Collections on defaulted federal student loans are scheduled to resume on May 5, 2025. Oakland County residents in this situation are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the Savi platform now, while free access is available.

Oakland County is helping to alleviate the financial burdens of student debt for county residents.

Oakland County is excited to offer this initiative at no cost to you as a way to help remove some of that financial burden from your monthly expenses.

The Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution at its July 18 meeting to allocate up to $500,000 for the program.
