The program is open to any Oakland County resident and any part-time or full-time Oakland County government employee.
If your children and spouse live in Oakland County, they are eligible to register for the Savi program.
Yes! All employees, part-time and full-time, are eligible to have the Savi registration fee waived for one year, if they register between Sept. 30, 2024, and Sept. 30, 2025.
Oakland County Board of Commissioners have allocated up to $500,000 for the program, so registration will be free to eligible participants for one year.
If a parent takes out a parent PLUS loan, the parent who is the loan holder should sign up for Savi.
Oakland County residents and government employees have FREE access to Savi’s “Essential” program. Thanks to the partnership, people who register between Sept. 30, 2024-Sept. 30, 2025, can take advantage of all the benefits of that tier, including support from Savi staff. This job aid provides screenshots and detailed instructions on how to register. Savi also offers a free DIY tier for borrowers. And a paid concierge-style service, which is not part of the Oakland County program.
Online registration takes 10 minutes to complete.
It depends on the person, but an average forgiveness amount is $38,980 for qualifying borrowers.
Participants will have to pay the fee, which is about $70 per person.
