Permitting

Currently there is nothing you need to do to prepare for the transition to the new digital services platform. We will post updates to let you know when the system goes live.

If you need to make a payment, the Office of the Water Resources Commissioner will no longer take credit card payments over the phone for any service provided. This includes:

• Water and sewer connections
• Grinder pumps
• Disconnects
• Septage hauling
• Water hauling permits

Credit card payments will need to be made via the new portal or in person at our office – One Public Works Drive, Building 95W, Waterford, MI 48328. We will still take checks or cash.

While you can make a one-time payment as a guest for most items, registering for an account gives you additional benefits, especially if you make recurring payments. Septage hauling payments in the portal will require an account to apply your payments to the correct invoice. With an account, you can:

• Receive reminders and digital notices to help you stay on top of upcoming bills.
• Save payment methods for faster future checkouts.
• Track all your past payments in one place for easy record-keeping.

Creating an account takes just a few minutes and ensures you get the most out of the new platform. You only need one MIOakGov account. If you use the portal to pay your taxes or other bills, you can use that same account when making a permitting payment.
