Important Information for Veterans
Oakland County Veterans' Services helps veterans and their families obtain and maintain all veterans related benefits from federal, state, and local government agencies.
The process of finding, applying for, receiving and maintaining veteran's benefits can be confusing and frustrating. Our goal is to provide outstanding service to the more than 70,000 veterans and their families who reside in Oakland County by maximizing the receipt of veterans benefits and eliminating or reducing the frustration and confusion that go along with the process. We do so with a highly trained and professional staff who are dedicated to serving veterans and their families.
We have two offices to better serve all areas of Oakland County. Please contact one of the offices listed if you are a veteran or the family member of a veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs presumes certain disabilities are service connected for active duty, reserve and National Guard members who served at Camp Lejeune for a minimum of 30 days between August 1, 1953 and December 31, 1987, and are diagnosed with any of the following conditions: Adult Leukemia, Aplastic Anemia and other Myelodysplastic Syndromes, Bladder Cancer, Kidney Cancer, Liver Cancer, Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and Parkinson's Disease. Please contact one of our offices with any questions or for more information on how to apply for compensation.
The Department of Veterans Affairs now provides eligibility determination for interment in a VA national cemetery prior to the time of need. Interested individuals can contact one of our offices for assistance in submitting an application.
