Community Advisory Councils

Prosecutor McDonald does not believe in creating policy in a vacuum. She has established several community advisory councils representing key stakeholder communities, which advise her and her leadership team and provide important perspectives on critical issues and reforms. The councils aid in the Prosecutor's effort to ensure the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office serves all residents of Oakland County in the pursuit of "equal justice under the law."

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Racial Justice Advisory Council was established in May 2021. The Advisory Council is composed of approximately twenty individuals from across Oakland County whose lives and work have been impacted by the criminal justice system, and who provide input on the most pressing problems they see in Oakland County as it pertains to racial equity, as well as lend feedback on the efforts and policies pursued by the Prosecutor’s Office. The Council meets quarterly.
