The Oakland County Parks system offers 100 miles of paved and natural trails for walking, jogging, skating, biking and equestrian riding year round. We ask that you follow the Park Rules while using Oakland County Parks trails. Dogs are welcome on trails but must be on a 6-foot leash at all times, unless inside the dog parks at Lyon Oaks, Orion Oaks or Red Oaks.
Many Oakland County Parks areas, with the exception of golf courses, are open for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking.
For safety reasons, golf courses are closed to the public in the winter. Throughout the off-season, we do not monitor the courses for public use. Also, maintenance is done during this season that cannot take place when the courses are open.
Winter hiking is available on most trails in the winter.
Addison Oaks County Park offers groomed trails for winter fat tire biking. Similar to mountain biking, fat tire bikes are built on a frame specifically designed to support wide, knobby tires. These over-sized tires provide a smooth ride, so they fare very well on groomed, snow-covered trail surfaces all season long. The 6-foot wide, 5.5 mile long trail includes many hills and scenic views. It winds through the park and loops cyclists back to their original starting point.
Please follow all park rules while on the trails.
