A More Skilled Workforce with Higher Earnings and Career Aspirations

This is the ultimate goal of Oakland80, the County’s target of 80 percent of our adults having a post-high school degree or credential by 2030.

The ambitious effort is managed jointly by the County Executive’s office and Workforce Development team within the Department of Economic Development. Key to our success are the partnerships that we are forging with innovative leaders from the K-12 and post-high school education, business, nonprofit and labor organizations that share our vision.

Together, we will position Oakland County as a national leader in educational attainment. Our residents will, in turn, pursue more in-demand careers, while employers benefit from a more highly skilled workforce.
