Eligible Oakland County residents can take advantage of financial support while in training!
To help our residents achieve their career goals, we have partnered with Oakland County Michigan Works! to offer financial support to pay for books, supplies, transportation, childcare, and other related expenses while students are enrolled in training. This support is made possible through the American Rescue Plan.
Scholarships and tuition assistance provide free money or reduced costs for education based on merit, need, or specific criteria. Key sources include federal aid (FAFSA) and Michigan state grants. Learn more about available resources to help you pay for education.
MSU announced a tuition-free guarantee for high school graduates who have a family income of $65,000 or less and qualify for the Federal Pell Grants. If you’re curious which public universities offer tuition-free guarantees, the Michigan Association of State Universities has a list of programs here.
The Michigan Department of Treasury reminds young adults who have experienced foster care on or after their 13th birthday that they are eligible to apply for a scholarship from the Fostering Futures Scholarship Trust Fund.
