Oakland Park’s project will create more than 13,200 square feet of wetlands with native plants to beautify a community space and effectively reduce pollutants by absorbing stormwater runoff.
Project Goals
Why Native Plants?
Native plants play a crucial role in stormwater management by providing deep root systems that enhance soil stability, increase water infiltration, and reduce surface runoff. This not only helps prevent flooding but also improves water quality by filtering out pollutants before they enter our waterways. Discover more about how native plants and rain gardens are an important part of sustainable stormwater management here.
