PONTIAC, Mich. – The FBI announced the arrest of fugitive Edgardo Luis Perez, wanted in connection with the 2001 murder of Gordon Machek, a 56-year-old Farmington Hills resident. Perez, 44, was extradited from Guatemala and arraigned Friday in the 47th District Court on a charge of felony murder.

 

“Gordon Machek was never forgotten. Thanks to advancements in DNA science, we are now able to bring charges against his alleged killer 25 years later. We would not be here without the dedication of law enforcement investigators and assistant prosecutors who remained committed to providing Gordon and his loved ones with a measure of justice.”

Charges are accusations and individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
