If you or someone you know has delinquent Oakland County property taxes for 2024 and prior years, the outstanding balance must be paid by March 31, 2027. If the balance cannot be paid in full, you may be eligible for an affordable repayment schedule or receive resource referrals for additional programs and services.

Repayment Plans

Property Tax Exemption
If you meet the eligibility requirements, you may claim a hardship exemption—granting you more time to pay your back taxes without losing your property—as governed by For more information or assistance, contact your local treasurer's office.
Principal Residence Exemption
If the property is your principal residence or primary home and you meet the eligibility requirements, you may apply for this exemption to lower your property tax bill. Homestead Property Tax Credit
Michigan's Homestead Property Tax Credit can help you pay some of your property taxes if you are a qualified Michigan homeowner or renter and meet the eligibility requirements. For more information or to apply, visit michigan.gov.
Personal Property Tax Exemption
The General Property Tax Act provides exemptions for certain categories of personal property including the Small Business Taxpayer Exemption and the Eligible Manufacturing Personal Property and Act 328 – New Personal Property.
