Oakland County has received:

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting

To be awarded this Certificate, an in-depth evaluation by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the County's reports against a rigid and comprehensive set of criteria was performed.

An impartial panel of governmental finance officers, CPAs and educators reviewed the County's financial reports for clarity, accuracy and compliance.

Only 5% of all Michigan communities have earned this GFOA award. Oakland County has received this award every year since 1992.

To receive a Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award (PAFR), the PAFR met detailed standards set forth by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for creativity, presentation, understandability and reader appeal.

The PAFR is designed to provide citizens with an easily understood report of the government's financial and economic condition.

Oakland County has received this GFOA award every year since 1998 and is one of only four Michigan counties to have received this award.
