Girls Non-Secure (GNS)
Children’s Village Girls Non-Secure (GNS) Program is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed therapeutic practices designed to support adolescent girls in developing healthier behavioral patterns and emotional well-being. Our philosophy centers on creating a safe, structured, and empowering environment where young women can explore their experiences, build resilience, and foster positive identity development. Through individualized treatment plans based on normed assessment tools, each resident’s unique strengths and needs are addressed to promote meaningful and lasting change.
GNS places a strong emphasis on relationship-building, self-awareness, and emotional growth. Residents are encouraged to take accountability for their actions while developing essential life skills such as honesty, trust, respect, responsibility, social awareness, conflict resolution, coping strategies, and anger management. Interactive journaling and cognitive-behavioral interventions are key components of the program, helping youth process experiences and build a positive self-image. Family involvement is integral, with opportunities for family therapy, parent support workshops, and active participation in treatment to support reunification and successful community reintegration.
