This is a multi‑step process that requires commitment and follow‑through. After an initial screening, you may be asked to participate in several meetings and complete some preparation on your end.

For Employees Aspiring to Leadership Roles.
In partnership with Rochester Christian University, this program is designed for full-time employees aspiring to leadership roles. It offers seminars, discussions, and activities aimed at developing leadership potential. Participants will gain insights from leaders across Oakland County departments, strengthen key leadership skills, build professional relationships, and earn a completion certificate from both Oakland County and Rochester Christian University.
For Current Supervisors, Managers, Administrators, and Directors.
This program is designed to sharpen the strategic leadership skills of current leaders. It covers key areas such as strategic thinking, organizational alignment, team-building, conflict resolution, networking, personal growth, and an understanding of public policy and governance. Upon completion, participants will receive a Leadership Badge from Rochester Christian University and a certificate from Oakland County.
For Emerging and Current Leaders.
The Impact Initiative Program is another installment in Oakland County’s leadership development pathway. Through a combination of formal learning, applied practice, mentorship, and service back to the county, participants will grow into leaders who model trust, collaboration, and accountability. In addition to coursework, participants will be required to demonstrate servant leadership through organizational contributions.
