Operation Drive Program

WELCOME

We are looking forward to working with you as you take the necessary steps to clear up issues that have been keeping you from getting a valid Michigan Driver’s License. Whether it has been several months or several years since you were licensed to drive, this program is designed to get you back on the road, safely and legally.

The 52-1 District Court Operation Drive program is honored to be an extension of the original and highly successful Operation Drive Program in the 44th District Court in Royal Oak. Since the creation of Operation Drive in 2016 by Judge Derek Meinecke, their program has helped thousands of participants become validly licensed drivers. Using the core values of the 44th District Court program, we look forward to having similar success. We are glad you are here so that our team can help you create your own success story!

DWLS CASES

If you are charged with Driving While License Suspended (DWLS) or a related offense, you may be eligible to participate in Operation Drive. At your pretrial, please discuss this opportunity with your attorney. Your attorney will then work with the prosecutor to see if you may be eligible for the program and what the prosecutor may be willing to offer you based on your driving record. If you do not have an attorney and you are not requesting one, you may still speak with the prosecutor about the program.

WHO WE HELP

As a participant in our program, you most likely fall into one of three categories:

You have a suspended license - In this situation, the goal of the program is to help you understand why your license is suspended and to provide guidance to help you clear suspensions and get your license reinstated.
You never applied for or obtained a license - In this situation, the goal of the program is to help you understand the process of applying for a license, such as setting up an appointment and preparing for the written/road tests.
You have a revoked license - In this situation, which will be considered for those who are eligible to apply for license restoration, the goal of the program is to get you in the best possible position to apply for a license and to keep you violation-free as you begin the process.
