Dr. Shweta Kapur is a researcher, clinician and first-generation immigrant who believes scientific discoveries matter only when they reach the communities they serve.
As a physical therapist and researcher working as visiting assistant professor at Oakland University, she bridges the gap between high-level research and public health. Kapur has also written 17 peer-reviewed publications, which have been cited over 370 times globally.
Additionally, she is the author of ÒPosture Town,Ó a book which helps children develop mindfulness about correct body posture.
A Troy resident, Kapur earned her bachelorÕs degree in physical therapy in India, her masterÕs degree in kinesiology from Penn State University in Pennsylvania, and her doctorate in human movement science from Oakland University.
