
Dr. Chantelle S. Yancy leads by choosing humanity and building systems to protect it.
In her role as the supervisor of wellness and community engagement in the Troy School District, she leads districtwide initiatives to encourage trauma-informed focused culturally responsive curriculum development and teaching practices. Yancy also manages an annual budget of $150,000 to develop programming, provide professional development training and offer resources to students and families to meet their physical, social and psychological needs.
She is also the co-owner of The Collaborative Collective, LLC, which empowers communities by advancing equity-centered practices in education, organizational culture, wellness and leadership development.
Beyond her professional career, Yancy mentors youth as the co-director of the Youth & Education Department at Solomon's Cathedral Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
A Troy native, Yancy earned her bachelorÕs degree in political science and English, as well as her masterÕs degree from Marygrove College. She earned her doctorate in public policy and administration from Walden University in Minnesota.
