Associate Director of Skills
Michigan Central

Dedicated to ensuring Detroit’s residents have the skills and opportunities they need to land jobs in the tech innovation and mobility industries, Myka S. Burley is the associate director of skills at Michigan Central. A subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company, Michigan Central is the 30-acre campus anchored by the former Michigan Central train station and is committed to building urban transportation solutions.

Burley was also the program manager of education and employment for the Rocket Community Fund in Detroit, the program coordinator at Techtown Detroit, and the owner and operator of The Genius Lab, which developed and provided workshops for children ages 7-12.

Burley earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and certificates from Spelman College and Cornell University. She is a board member for Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan and NPower Michigan.

A resident of Southfield, Burley is a 40 Under 40 award winner from the Michigan Chronicle and a recipient of the Spirit of Detroit Award for her work on homelessness awareness and advocacy.
