38 Director of Transportation Operations RXO As a supply chain professional, Jon Ong is committed to helping companies get their goods where they need to be and do so in an environmentally sustainable way. At RXO, headquartered in North Carolina, he rose from senior manager to director of transportation by keeping supply chains open so patients could receive lifesaving medicine during the pandemic and military defenses could reach Ukraine. Ong is also a recent graduate of RXOÕs RISE Executive Development Program. Following the US Environmental Protection AgencyÕs SmartWay program, Ong has worked with companies to eliminate more than 1,000 metric tons of harmful carbon emissions annually. Ong is also a frequent volunteer at Forgotten Harvest and Lighthouse of Oakland County as well as a mentor to freshmen at the University of Michigan College of Engineering. He is also a U of M alumnus, earning a bachelorÕs degree in mechanical engineering and a masterÕs degree in biomedical engineering. Ong lives in Bloomfield Township with his wife and two children.
