An educator with a vision of providing skills that contribute to positive global citizenship, Ernesto Chavez developed and leads Bright Loritos, an immersive language company in Troy that provides instruction in Spanish, French, Mandarin and Arabic for children.

His work ensures students are proficient in both language and cultural awareness, helping to make them empathetic global citizens.

Chavez was also a Spanish teacher at the Roeper School in Bloomfield Hills, Cedar Crest Academy in Clarkston, Four Corners Montessori Academy in Madison Heights and the Somerset Preschool in Troy. He created the Loritos Foundation Program, which provides second language classes to underserved communities across the world.

He received a bachelor’s in Spanish and master’s degrees in teaching and early childhood education from Oakland University. A resident of Waterford, Chavez organizes a bilingual storytime for local libraries around Metro Detroit.
