32 Director of Government Affairs Oakland County Sheriff's Office Using his law degree and experience working in the Michigan Legislature, Anthony ÒTonyÓ Buffa is the Director of Government Affairs for the Oakland County SheriffÕs Office. In Lansing, he worked on a wide variety of issues, including access to childcare services, economic development, clean energy and regulatory reform. Since joining the SheriffÕs Division, Buffa has been building bipartisan working relationships with the Legislature and is helping secure state and federal funding for training equipment and increased marine patrols. He is currently working to get laws passed that would help law enforcement more easily distribute lifesaving Narcan medication to the most vulnerable in the community. Buffa received a bachelorÕs degree in Political Science from Central Michigan University and a law degree from the Michigan State University. He volunteers with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and runs ÒMission Oakland,Ó a nonprofit in the SheriffÕs office that offers morale boosting services for employees.
