Christ Church Cranbrook
Sarah Simko is a masterÕs student at the University of Michigan studying organ performance. She received her undergraduate degree in organ performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Born and raised in Michigan, Sarah recently won first prize in the Schoenstein Competition in the Art of Organ Accompaniment hosted by the University of Michigan. In 2017, Sarah was nominated to The Diapason magazineÕs ÒTop 20 under 30Ó leaders in the field of organ. Sarah has traveled to Germany, France, Denmark and Sweden to study on historical instruments. She is secretary for the Ann Arbor chapter of the American Guild of Organists. She has also served as an adjudicator for the Detroit Chapter of the American Guild of OrganistÕs annual scholarship competition. She has volunteered as a chaperone for several Pipe Organ Encounter camps for high school students. Currently serving as interim Director of Music and Organist at University Presbyterian Church in Rochester, Sarah will be touring Michigan this summer with the high school choir, the Agape Singers. Previously she held positions at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills; Bethany Presbyterian Church in Greece, New York; and University Presbyterian Church in Rochester.
