Playgrounds

Playgrounds keep young ones active while providing an overall pleasant park outing for families, play groups and individuals. These areas are like outdoor classrooms, allowing children to develop physical, emotional and cognitive skills. Plus, playing with other children enhances their social abilities and sense of teamwork.

  • Catalpa Oaks County Park is closed to allow for construction of a paved parking lot, new picnic shelter, improved accessible pathways, playground expansion and soccer field improvements. Renovations are expected to conclude in late summer 2026.

  • The Paradise Peninsula (newly renamed Cattail Cove) area of Waterford Oaks County Park  is currently closed and is slated to reopen in late 2026.
