Request a visit from nature center staff
Programs are available by appointment year-round for community groups, senior centers, scout groups, libraries, homeschool co-ops, families and more at both Oakland County Parks nature centers.
For most programs, Red Oaks Nature Center, located in Madison Heights, can accommodate group sizes of up to 50 individuals. Wint Nature Center within Independence Oaks County Park in Clarkston can accommodate group sizes up to 90 individuals. Larger groups may be accommodated as staffing levels allow.
Typical field trips are 90 minutes long and usually include a nature presentation on a selected topic, a seasonal hike and time in our exhibit area. Some field trip topics have an additional activity. See the menu below for specifics on each topic.
Field trips are $3/person with a minimum fee of $30. An additional $1-$2/person materials or activity fee may apply with some topics.
