There is one of these projects in the works in Waterford Township:
Waterford Oaks is a 199-acre Oakland County Park located in Waterford Township.
Creation of a new and expanded playground and an accessible plaza with shaded gathering and seating areas to welcome visitors to the park and provide opportunities to socialize and relax. The project is funded by the OCP Healthy Communities Park and Outdoor Recreation Investment Plan, including $3,500,000 in ARPA funding and $1,000,000 from the OCP Capital Improvement Program.
Construction includes a major playground expansion, new restrooms, pavilion and fitness area at the Paradise Peninsula section (newly renamed Cattail Cove) of Waterford Oaks County Park. This area closed in June 2025 to allow for work to be completed and is anticipated to reopen in 2026.
