Major Larry Perry is the Commander of the Corrections and Court Services Divisions of the Sheriff's Office. In his current role, he is responsible for overseeing the Sheriff's Corrections Division, Court Services Division, Civil Unit and the Technology, Information and Innovation Division (includes the Records Unit).
Major Perry was hired by the Sheriff's Office as a Deputy in 1992. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2001, Lieutenant in 2007, Captain in 2020 and to his current position of Major in 2022.
Major Perry has held various positions over the course of his career. He most recently served as the Commander of the Emergency Response and Preparedness Division, now the Homeland Security, Wellness and Professional Development Division. In that position he was responsible for overseeing the Sheriff's Department of Homeland Security, Training Unit, Technology Unit, Civil Unit, and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team.
He also served as a Substation Commander for the contracted patrol areas of Oxford and Independence Townships (Patrol Services Division). Other areas of service include the Sheriff’s Court Services Division, Corrections Division, and Uniformed Patrol. Additionally, he formerly represented the Sheriff's Office for the Joint Terrorism Task Force, Michigan Intelligence Operations Center, and Department of Homeland Security.
Major Perry attended Western Michigan University, Oakland Police Academy (1999) and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Class #259 (2015).
Major Perry has received numerous awards and citations, including the National Medal of Merit, Life Saving Award, American Legion Post Deputy of the Year, Meritorious Service Citations, Professional Excellence Citations and Distinguished Unit Citations.

The Corrections, Courts and Technology Group consists of the Main Jail, Satellite Facilities, Circuit Court, District Courts, and oversees the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Technology, Information and Innovation division. Corrective Services is responsible for the supervision and oversight of approximately 1,664 inmates in the corrections system. Security ranges from maximum security to low-level offenders. This Division is responsible for all Main Jail operations as well as booking, visitation of inmates, and food services.
