Gaia V. Piir is the Fiscal Officer for the Sheriff's Office. Her duties include the oversight of accounting, budgeting, purchasing, and human resources for the entire agency. Ms. Piir has been with Oakland County since 1992.
Ms. Piir received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Management from Cleary College. She is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the Michigan Government Finance Officers Association (MGFOA) and the Leadership Oakland Alumni Association. She is a member of the GFOA Women’s Public Finance Network (WPFN) and has attended the GFOA Advanced Government Finance Institute. She is a Certified Credit Union Volunteer and currently serves as the Chairperson on the Vibe Credit Union Board of Directors.

Administrative Services is responsible for conducting all business and human resource functions which include those associated with the hiring and retention of all classifications.
Accounting, payroll, benefits, equipment/supplies, travel expenses and inmate accounts are also maintained by this Division. Inmate accounts include bonds, fines and costs, and money used for inmates to purchase Commissary items.
This Division manages a budget of over $224 million and ensures dollars are spent both efficiently and for the benefit of Oakland County.
Administrative Services has oversight of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Drug & Alcohol Testing.
